POSITION: FMCG Logistics Officer

LOCATION: Lagos – Nigeria

JOB BRIEF

Our client in the FMCG industry is currently looking for an experienced Logistics Officer. The Logistics Officer is in charge of monitoring the warehouse, ensuring accountability of products, organizing the storage area, dispatch, and receipt of goods.

The Logistics Officer serves as the Head of the supply chain, by controlling the delivery of products and documents to necessary outposts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other responsibilities of the Logistics Officer include but not limited to:

Receiving and dispatching goods and verifying movements of outgoing or incoming items.
Checking purchase orders against stock levels.
Preparing and maintaining schedules of outgoing and incoming products.
Development of strategies to manage the efficient delivery of products
Develop and maintain a well-detailed database
Providing logistic support and overseeing the overall logistic processes in support of the objectives of the organization.
Planning, oversight, and management and coordination of logistics support operations to ensure smooth accomplishment of projects.
Working hand-in hand with subcontractors to ensure that communications and safety protocols are followed.
Directly involved in the hiring of casual workers and lifters
Creating a plan or timetable for the movement of products; workforce and parts supply in compliance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of B.Sc., in any field
2 years proven work experience in a Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement or FMCG industry.
2 years proven work experience as a Logistics officer in any of the aforementioned industry.
Exposure to global best practices.
Hands on experience with a CRM software and MS Office.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Ability to work under strict deadlines.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
